Fees: £60

Limited Spaces: first come, first served for each age group.

Age Range: 7yrs – 21yrs (groups will be divided based on age and experience)

Open to all: Current MTB members, non-MTB members, vocational and non-vocational ballet students are all welcome!

We look forward to you joining us for our February 1-Day Intensive! Classes will begin at 9:30am and will finish at 4:30pm, with breaks to rest throughout the day (early drop-off and late pick-up available – see below).

Our 1-day intensive will provide students with the opportunity to work with our faculty of experienced teachers. Students will focus on ballet and contemporary technique as well having the opportunity to develop their performance and application of their skills during repertoire classes, where they will learn corps de ballet repertoire and solos from a well-known ballet.

Our doors will be open from 8:30am until 5:30pm for students who may require an early drop-off and late pick-up – no additional fees are required. Staff supervision, fun and games will all be provided during the out of class hours!

Please note, this course is non-residential and accommodation/food is not provided. Students will be required to bring a packed lunch each day.

Ballet Teacher
Immie's Bio

Imogen-Lily’s ballet journey began at the age of 2, starting her training at Lisayne Ballet School. Alongside her studies, she enrolled in Elmhurst Ballet School’s ‘Pre Vocational Programme’ and The Royal Ballet School’s ‘Junior Associate Programme’.

 

Immie pursued full-time vocational training at Elmhurst Ballet School in 2010, then honed her skills at Central School of Ballet in London in 2015, graduating with a First-Class BA Hons in Professional Dance and Performance.

 

Immie’s professional career has taken her to various stages worldwide. She previously toured with the Birmingham Royal Ballet in the production of ‘Sylvia’ as a young girl and still to this day performs as ‘Clara’ in Alexandra Dariescu’s production, ‘The Nutcracker and I’ and most recently returned from a European and China tour.

 

A defining moment in Immie’s career came when she took on the role of ‘Meg Giry’ in the production of ‘The Phantom of The Opera’ in Copenhagen, Denmark. This exhilarating experience stands as one of her career highlights.

 

In 2021, Immie was honoured to take on the role of Artistic Director at ‘Midland Theatre Ballet’. Since taking on this position, Immie has thoroughly enjoyed nurturing young talent and helping students to develop their confidence. Immie was delighted to bring this fabulous programme to Leeds with the launch of ‘Yorkshire Theatre Ballet’ back in October 2023.

Harriet Ellis

Contemporary Teacher
Harriet's Bio

Harriet (she/her) is a freelance dance artist based in Birmingham/London who has performed internationally in both stage and sight specific dance work, most recently touring as the only female cast member of ‘S.C.R.U.M’ 2023, by the award winning, Avant Garde Dance Company.

 

Previously she has received ACE funding as a developing choreographer, mentorship from Gary Clarke Company, and worked as a dancer, rehearsal director and/or commissioned choreographer with contemporary companies: Lisa Simpson Inclusive Dance, Rosie Kay Dance Company, Corey Baker Dance (Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony), Beyond Words Dance, SEH Company, Balbir Singh, Keneish Dance, Cohoots NI, Midlands Actors Theatre and VDC Company.

 

She loves to share her passion for movement with all ages and abilities and her teaching practice ranges from leading community workshops to training pre professionals as a university lecturer.

Laura Tye

Ballet Teacher
Laura's Bio

Laura started dancing at the age of 8 at a local dance school in Eastleigh, United Kingdom. Taking part in various productions and youth dance performances her love of performing became undeniable. At the age of 16, she was awarded a full scholarship to The Royal Ballet School in London. During her time at RBS, Laura was frequently chosen to perform with The Royal Ballet at The Royal Opera House in Covent Garden and also with Birmingham Royal Ballet for their UK tours. Laura was offered a contract to join Birmingham Royal Ballet at age 18.

 

During her 21 year professional career with Birmingham Royal Ballet, she performed in a variety of ballets, dance festivals, and galas in prestigious international venues around the world. Regularly performing in Tokyo, Bejing, New York, and London.

 

As a senior dancer, Laura has always enjoyed mentoring and encouraging younger dancers to achieve their potential and enjoyed choreographing for Companies such as Pandora Jewellery and Selfridges.

 

A highlight of Laura’s career was being asked to join forces with Channel 4, Youth at Risk, and the local authorities of Birmingham, Dudley, Sandwell and Wolverhampton on an 18- month project that combined ballet and fitness, personal development training and life coaching to enable young people from troubled backgrounds to develop skills that will help in enhancing their lives. This was captured on film and translated into a four-part series.
