SUMMER 3-DAY HOLIDAY SCHOOL

Dates: 5th-7th August 2024 (3 days)

Times: 8:30am – 5:30pm

Venue: Elmhurst Ballet School (B5 7UH)

Fees: £165

Limited Spaces: first come, first served for each age group.

Age Range: 7yrs – 21yrs (groups will be divided based on age and experience)

Open to all: Current MTB members, non-MTB members, vocational and non-vocational ballet students are all welcome!

We look forward to you joining us for our Summer 3-Day Intensive! Classes will begin at 9:30am and will finish at 4:30pm, with breaks to rest throughout the day (early drop-off and late pick-up available – see below).

Our 3-day intensive will provide students with the opportunity to work with our faculty of experienced teachers. Students will focus on ballet and contemporary technique as well having the opportunity to develop their performance and application of their skills during repertoire classes, where they will learn corps de ballet repertoire and solos from multiple ballets. There will be a small showcase for parents/guardians at the end of the course!

Our doors will be open from 8:30am until 5:30pm for students who may require an early drop-off and late pick-up – no additional fees are required. Staff supervision, fun and games will all be provided during the out of class hours!

Please note, this course is non-residential and accommodation/food is not provided. Students will be required to bring a packed lunch each day.

Ballet Teacher
Immie's Bio

Imogen-Lily’s ballet journey began at the age of 2, starting her training at Lisayne Ballet School. Alongside her studies, she enrolled in Elmhurst Ballet School’s ‘Pre Vocational Programme’ and The Royal Ballet School’s ‘Junior Associate Programme’.

 

Immie pursued full-time vocational training at Elmhurst Ballet School in 2010, then honed her skills at Central School of Ballet in London in 2015, graduating with a First-Class BA Hons in Professional Dance and Performance.

 

Immie’s professional career has taken her to various stages worldwide. She previously toured with the Birmingham Royal Ballet in the production of ‘Sylvia’ as a young girl and still to this day performs as ‘Clara’ in Alexandra Dariescu’s production, ‘The Nutcracker and I’ and most recently returned from a European and China tour.

 

A defining moment in Immie’s career came when she took on the role of ‘Meg Giry’ in the production of ‘The Phantom of The Opera’ in Copenhagen, Denmark. This exhilarating experience stands as one of her career highlights.

 

In 2021, Immie was honoured to take on the role of Artistic Director at ‘Midland Theatre Ballet’. Since taking on this position, Immie has thoroughly enjoyed nurturing young talent and helping students to develop their confidence. Immie was delighted to bring this fabulous programme to Leeds with the launch of ‘Yorkshire Theatre Ballet’ back in October 2023.

Bethany Kingsley-Garner

Bethany's Bio

Bethany Kingsley-Garner was born in Devon ,she joined the Royal Ballet School age 11 and completed the full eight years of training and graduated with Honours in 2007 after winning The Wyre Drawer Company Leavers Prize, The April Olrich Award for Most Dynamic Performer and First Commendation in Young Dancer of The Year.

After being offered a place she joined Scottish Ballet in 2007 and was promoted to Soloist and then Principal Dancer having performed numerous roles. Bethany  was nominated by the Critics Circle for Outstanding Classical Performance, and is actively involved in Dance Education teaching and guest coaching at workshops and seminars across the world. Bethany was chosen to be  a Champion of Scotland to inspire, motivate and encourage young people. Bethany enjoy presenting to audiences and has appeared as a Ballet Mentor for the BBC Young Dancer. Bethany got awarded Ambassadorship of “Scotland is Now” and named The peoples Ballerina,  most recently created Be Inspired dance wear collection with Movedance, individually designed to inspire dancers and share positivity and encouragement.

Bethany has worked very closely with The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland to create the unique link from company to school, being awarded Ambassador for the Morden Ballet course she will be present and coach the dancer of the next generation.

Jacob Wye

Contemporary Teacher
Jacob's Bio

Jacob Wye, trained at the Royal Ballet School and Central School of Ballet before joining Ballet Black (2012) and Rambert (2017).

Featuring as “Siegried” in the show “Peaky Blinders”, he has also featured in music videos from Jessie Ware and Years & Years. Jacob was a rehearsal director for The Common Wealth Games Opening Ceremony and is currently ambassador for ROH’s, Chance To Dance program.

Jacob most recently worked as a dancer and collaborator on a project titled “The Limit” with the Royal Opera House and frequently works at schools in the North West, sharing his eclectic knowledge of dance and movement.
